The Work We Have Done
KĀTH PADAR — PAITHANI & BEYOND
In 2023, TVAM Foundation conducted an in-depth on-field documentation of Paithani textiles from the Shri Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum in Satara, Shri Bhavani Museum in Aundh, and Nagpur Central Museum, sponsoring a digital and printed photo archive that was donated to the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums, Government of Maharashtra.
The first-ever exhibition of historical Paithani textiles in Paithan, organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums, showcased selected sarees, shelas, and headgear, attracting over 2,500 visitors from across India, including textile scholars, students, and weavers, reflecting the craft’s enduring cultural significance and importance.
